Oracle Corporation founder and chief executive Larry Ellison has
topped the list of best-paid executives of the decade with $1.84 billion, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

The 65-year-old software pioneer, who founded Oracle in 1977, beat Internet tycoon Barry Diller into second place on just over $1 billion.

2. Barry Diller, who received some $1.14 billion from IAC/Interactive and Expedia Inc, the online travel site IAC spun off in 2005, where he remains chairman.

3. Ray Irani, CEO of Occidental Petroleum Corp in third place, with $857 million.

4. Steve Jobs, CEO Apple Inc. is fourth with $749 million

5. Richard Fairbank, CEO of Capital One Financial Corp is in fifth place with $569 million earned over the decade
