Google acquires Jambool for $70 million | Jambool's Social Gold Technology allows payment options in online games

Google $70 million acquisition of Jambool " Social Gold = virtual currency service" has strengthened its plans of creating a robust online social media platform with games being a vital part of acquiring immediate interest; a strategy used very well by social media giant Facebook with highly popular gaming / widget platforms by Zynga & Slide.
Google has already taken in Slide which cost them $228 million, Jambool cost $70 million and Google's investment in Zynga is reportedly $100 million or more.
Google spokesperson mentioned: "We're pleased and excited to welcome the Jambool team to Google. We are committed to offering consumers and merchants innovative digital payment solutions and Jambool will help Google evolve our payments offering and expand into digital goods and content.
When asked what Google will use Jambool for, the spokesperson said: "E-commerce is a critical part of the Web experience for many users, and the very talented Jambool team will be a valuable asset to Google as we work to improve these experiences."

Google Chrome 3rd most used browser in USA, Chrome beats Safari first time in United States
Google Chrome toppled Apple Safari for the first time to become the third most used Internet browser in the USA, according to Statcounter. "This is quite a coup for Google as they have gone from zero to almost 10 percent of the US market in under two years," StatCounter chief executive Aodhan Cullen said in a release.
"There is a battle royal going on between Google and Apple in the Internet browser space (Chrome vs. Safari) as well as in the mobile market (Android vs. iPhone)."
Chrome had 8.97 percent of the US browser market in the week that ended Sunday, topping Safari's 8.88 percent, StatCounter reported.
